Question about symptoms!
Hi All!
I'm new to this message board. My DH and I have been trying for 9 years to have a baby. I had GB on 7/2009 and we just recently found out we are 12 weeks 3 days along in expecting. It was unplanned, because we were going to wait at least a year to start trying. I thought the nausea I was having was some kind of irritation with my pouch.
This morning, my nephew asked for pancakes, so I told him I would make him some. I prepared the wheat batter, then started cooking, I didn't even finish with three of them before I got really hot, almost unbearably hot, I even felt faint. I had to turn everything off and go rest for a bit before I could finish. Is this a normal pregnancy symptom? Any advise or stories would be greatly appreciated.
I have been all over the place with my emotions, I want this so bad, we have tried so long, I just don't want anything to go wrong. We had an ultrasound at 9 weeks 5 days, and we even got to hear the heartbeat. That was the most wonderful thing ever. We have an appointment tomorrow to go in for another ultrasound and to hopefully see the doctor. I would just like to hear from some that have the same experiences as me, because I'm new to the GB and now to pregnancy! Thanks in advance!!!

I didn't get hot until the end of my pregnancy, but it can happen at any time. I am pretty sure it's completely normal. I would even get hot eating. LOL

Was your blood sugar low? The only time I really got sweaty or hot early on from normal activity was actually when my blood sugar was low. It took a few times to really recognize what it was.
I'm glad you've had a chance to see the heartbeat on ultrasound! Every appt. you'll be anxious though- I was until I got past 24 weeks, which is considered the point of viability, and then I started to relax a little more. Now I am 35 nearing 36 weeks and waitin gon my twin boys- they should make an appearance soon.
You may mention the episode to your Dr. when it first began happening to me they drew my labs so they could see what might be low. My iron was low, so we started on some supplements for that, although unlikely the cause. I did pass the two hour blood glucose draw, so the problem was determined to be hypoglycemia, or really low blood sugar. Theonly thing I can do for that is watch what I am eating- nothing with a lot of sugar, because then my body overcompensates. Or, making sure I am eating regularly. Good luck for your appt. tomorrow! Your surgery shouldn't be too much of a complication, just restrictive for what you can eat and also requires some extra blood work and supplementation. Are you taking prenatal viatmins? If not, you should start.
