My 4 hour labor and delivery experience
This morning I woke up and had a little tiny bit of pink spotting. I called the doctor and because I wasn't having any other symptoms, they decided I didn't need to be seen. Well around 1pm, I started feeling a little crampy and thought that was strange so I decided to go in to be seen just to be safe. After having that protein in my urine on Tuesday, I thought I better not take any chances. So I went in and they took me to a room in labor and delivery. Lo and behold, I was having contractions. I was having them consistently and frequently. They weren't bad at all just annoying. They checked my urine, which was perfect, checked me for any vaginal infections, that was fine, and then checked my cervix which wasn't dilated. So apparently they think I'm fine and they sent me home. I'm still having contractions and they're still just annoying. It's like menstrual cramps but they're frequent. I am going to call the doctor first thing in the morning to let her know what happened (since this was at a different hospital than where I'm going to deliver at). I drank 4 glasses of water while I was there and it didn't change the contractions at all, so they aren't sure what's going on. I really don't know what to think. I'm 34 weeks and it's a little early for me to feel comfortable having the baby now. I think 2 more weeks and I'd be ok with it. The baby's heartbeat was always really steady and strong though so that was good. Anyway, I hope I can sleep and the contractions stop!
The first shot made me feel like I wanted to crawl out of my skin, but that only lasted about 10 mins, then I just felt a little jittery (kind of like I had one to many cups of coffee, of the way diet pills used to make me feel LOL), that lasted about an hour. Then with the second shot I just had a quick rise in my pulse that lasted about two mins and then I felt totally fine. I spent the last 10 weeks of the trips pregnancy with a Terb pump in my leg, so I knew what to expect.
The first one always sucks, but your body gets used to it pretty quick.
