Off the pill now - Is what I am feeling normal? Random questions about our friend Flo

So, I have gone off the pill because my one year surgiversary is coming up and we plan on TTC. I normally would have started my next pack this past Sunday. Seems like the last couple of days I have been a raving ***** I am sad and depressed and everyone is getting on my nerves. I want to strangle my husband right now and he isn't doing anything but sitting on the computer next to me talking about random stuff. Is this normal? is it just the pill getting out of my system and jacking with my hormones?

Also...My period has always been normal while on the pill. However the last few months it has been really abnormal. I will start about 2 weeks in to a new pack and have a light flow until it ends at its regular time. I figure it is just from dropping 150 pounds so quickly. My OB doesn't seem concerned. I have not been off the pill in a really long time nor have I ever lost this much weight. Have any of you experienced this? Should I regulate and how quickly now that I am off the pill?

I want to start tracking my periods so when we do try I know when I ovulate and also so we can figure out exactly how far along I am if I do get pregnant. I plan on using FF or cyclespage.com but I am not sure how. It asks me how long my cycles are and I have no clue since I am so irregular now. Also, if I start in the middle of a cycle do I count that as my first day even if it lasts for several weeks? I feel like I should know how to do all of this. I mean I have been having periods for almost 25 years!

I am so confused and frustrated! Must be because I am off the pill now!

Thanks for letting me rant and any advice you can give me.

When we are loosing fools estrogen is a much, as while we were putting the flab on we were storing all unused estrogen in our fat.  I actually had to go off the pill just to keep my PMS/PMDD in check... as the added extra hormones were surely more then my husband could bare.

THIS ALL SAID... when the time came for me to try to concieve I first tried the over the couter ovulation prediction sticks... to no avail... I was quite concerned becuase they never read an egg drop... but I went to the doc he ran some kind of hormone inquire test with my regular blod work and he said I was still appearing feritile... he adivised I invest in one of the more expencive ovulation prediction products.  The following month I invested in a First Responce little machine thing, you pee on a stick from day one of your cycle and do so until it tells you you have dropped an egg or it tells you to stop till the next cycle...

My husband and I watched the machine carefully... and the day before the little egg pic showed up we had done the deed... low and behold... 2 weeks later I took the other kind of first responce test and found we were having a baby...

I am not sure why but the pricier machine was far more sensitive in my case.  I sold the machine on craigs list for 30 dollars less then what I paid for it, to me that was money well spent!  Good LUCK!

B/C always helped regulate my moods and when I would get off of it it would take a little while for my body to try and regulate by itself.

Good luck TTC!

When I was on the pill years ago, my moods were on a pretty even keel.  After I went off, it took me about a month to mellow out... but then my periods were irregular.

I haven't taken birth control pills for about 6 years, now.

That being said, my periods were always irregular, except for when I was on birth control.  I would skip months at a time, and at one point, I think I had only 3 periods in a one-year span.  Once I lost a bunch of weight, they regulated themselves, and now my cycles average 34 days.

Do you have an iPhone?  There's a great app called iPeriod.  It tracks your period, your optimum fertility days, your temperature, your moods, your weight, etc etc.  It's awesome.  I started tracking my periods 10 months ago, and I input the dates onto the iPeriod calendar... and it always estimates when I'll get my period within a day or two.  You can also export your data to your computer so you can give a copy to your doctor.

If you don't have an iPhone, then FertilityFriend is a neat site.  It's overwhelming and confusing at first, but they have tutorial videos that explain everything.
