Mirena IUD?

I had one put in after having my second baby.  I loved mine.  I had no period for almost a year, then when I got it it was about 4 days and very light.  Whereas I was having 7 to 8 heavy days. 

I had a Mirena IUD put in right after the birth of my son and kept it for almost 5 years. Didn't have to have it put in during my period, only a slight cramping during implantation and literally didn't have a period the same length of time! We are currently TTC otherwise i'd still have one. LOVE IT!

Loved it.  Never had a period.  Gained a lot of weight though so if you gain from the pill you will probably gain from this.

I had the Mirena placed at my 6 week appt, which was about 2 weeks ago.  I am still bleeding on and off, which my OB said is probably a combination of it being my first postpartum period and the Mirena.  The verdict is still out for me.  I am hoping that the bleeding stops soon and I have the same positive experience that everyone else has had.

 Did it hurt when they inserted it?  Isn't that ridiculous that I even care....as if it could possibly be worse than a baby coming out of there?  LOL!!!
