Charting?

This is the only place I could think to post this.  I am NOT trying to get pregnant, as I'm only 7 weeks out, but I am charting to avoid pregnancy.  I noticed my temp has dropped a lot.  It's in the 96s now.  Is this normal for post-op?

Post-o*****t, it is normal if you aren't pregnant. You're losing weight, so expect more normal temps like that in the AM. It's when you ovulate that your temps will be higher. After a cycle or two you will then know how long your phases are to be able to determine when to avoid a pregnancy. Just remember sperm can live inside the female body up to 3-5 days, so you have to avoid for a good week or more if you include days post ovulation as well.

Yeah, I've been charting for a couple years...but they're even lower.  Usually I'm in the 97s before I ovulate, and in the 98s after.  This cycle I've been consistently in the 96s though.  I just can't figure out if that's weight loss related, or a thyroid issue.

Then it's WL related. Your body is more efficient and they always say that when you lose weight after WLS you're colder and they really mean it. LOL

*maybe you need a new thermometer battery?? And I am a good example of the 5 day living sperm...lol so be careful. I recommend another form of bc during this time as a lot of times surgery will regulate your hormones and make you more fertile.

Brand new therm!  I'm not too worried about BC, though-we're sort of in a rut right now.
