My baby shower....
Well for starters let me say, the event itself was very special to me, and I think my sister (the hostess) did a great job! Secondly, I forgot my camera so was totally at the mercy of other people taking pics for me.
I dont know if any of you had the same experience as me, but we sent out about 50+ invitations and expected less than half to show up....wow...we were so off, I had over 30 ppl there. It was a mad house. I loved seeing everyone and knowing they were there to celebrate my lil one, but oh my goodness!! I felt like I was being pulled in forty different directions all at one time. Everyone wanted to talk to me, and ask how I was feeling, and tell me about their experiences....etc.
At the end of the day, it was great, however my friends wanted to take pics with me. They approached me and asked for photos, so I gave in....lol. It hadnt crossed my mind to take pics because I had forgotten my camera and apparently because my sister saw me taking photos with others and I hadnt taken time to find her and take pics with her, it hurt her feelings. I honestly had no intention of "forgetting her" or intentionally leaving her out. She made a HUGE deal of this. Keep in mind I didnt know she was upset until after I sent my friend to find her (when I realized I needed more pics) and she said to my friend "taking pics with her is the last thing I want to do"!! Can you believe that!!!
So yesterday evening I get a txt message from her, telling me how unappreciated she felt that she spent "x" amount of dollars on my shower and felt that I didnt appreciate her, after I told her time and time again at the shower how beautiful it was etc. Basically my sister is the type of person that HAS to be the center of attention, and because that day didnt belong to her she had to ruin it for all others involved.
Sorry to vent to all of you, but I needed to get it off my chest.
Here are some photos. We got almost everything we needed for Claudia, suprisingly I only got one pack of diapers....which was the one things EVERYONE told me not to buy ahead of time cause I would get so many at the shower...lol

That said, im glad that you got through it in one peice :) You look great. Your bump is so cute. I love the little dress with the white sweater, it looks so old fashioned, I LOVE IT! BTW, I registered for the same bathtub for our little girl lol. Let me know how it works out :)

Super proud mommy to Dylan, Owen and Sophia Brianne!
YOu look great and the dresses for the girls (the zebra print ones) are adorable!!!
I'm sorry your Sis was a pain, sometimes people need to just get over themselves - it was your day and if she wanted a pic with you all she had to do was ask. I barely remembered to eat and pee at my shower it was so hectic I certainly wasn't coordinating photo sessions!
SO glad that you got tons of stuff too! Now all you have to buy is diapers! lol

It looks like a beautiful shower! Too bad your sister had a **** fit! I can completely sympathize. My family is notorious for wrecking special occasions! For example my mother hasn't talked to me since my daughters baptism on 4/11/10 because we had it 4 hrs away at the church we got married in and I didn't call her afterwards to let her know how it went. The funny thing is I DID call her and left her a message and also offered to pay for her gas and part of a motel room to help her come but she declined. WoW! So I totally understand how you are feeling! The shower was your day to celebrate your baby girl so don't let your sister make the day all about her!

thanks yall!! I knew I could count on my OH buddies to make me feel better.
The zebra dresses I had made just for the shower, the two girls wearing them were my best friends daughter (who helped with the shower) and my niece. (i also had a matching one made in baby size for Claudia, and eventually I will take all three girls and have their pics made in the dresses....)
I have gotten over the fact that my sister is like this and just accepted. Needless to say, if baby number two (in the very distant future) is a boy, she will NOT be throwing that shower!
