Backache...what do you think?
Last night right before bed all of a sudden my back started to hurt with little sharp pains. It's hurting pretty high, about mid-back right below my bra strap. I mentioned it to a friend and she said that I should call the Dr.... honestly, I didnt think anything of it since it was so high up, I really didnt think that it could be pregnancy related at all. Now, I'm second guessing myself. What would you do?
Kidneys? With my 2nd one, I had something called hydronephrosis and it's where urine backs up into the kidneys. And it was painful! It happens more in pregnancy as well. But it could also be a kidney infection as well.
Could be constipation. (I had constipation so bad a few times this pregnancy that my whole abdomen was swollen and hard, probably full of some gas too, and it hurt all the way into my back and since you have a loop of bowel that goes up and across the top of your abdomen, if it's constipated or full of gas, it CAN hurt into the back.....and ouch!)
Could also be a pinched nerve maybe that you didn't know about (probably not a likely cause, but a possibility.....just throwing it out there).
Do you have your gallbladder?
That's all of my suggestions. Just run it by your Dr.'s nurse and see what they advise you to do. They may want to see you, or they may have an answer for you over the phone. If it were me, I'd call the Dr, ask the nurse and see what they say. I hope it goes away and you feel better!
