12 wk appt yesterday....ho-hum
So we went for my 12 week appt yesterday. Kind of a let down. All doc did was ask a bunch of family health history questions and listen to the heartbeat. Even that was boring since I've been hearing that for the last 2 weeks. He probably wondered why we weren't more thrilled to hear it!!
I have the CVS blood testing at 15 weeks and another doc appt at 16 weeks. I'm sure that one will be a lot like this one. Not much new unless the blood test shows something irregular. I'm a little concerned since I'm almost 37 and my husband is almost 53.
There are no more ultrasounds planned until 20 weeks to tell the sex. I had one at about 7 weeks and that's been it. Kind of disappointed, but that's the way it goes. The waiting is the hardest part, right?
I guess a little good news...I haven't gained any weight. When I get on the scale, I tell the lady "I won't look - and you don't say!" So she just says if I've gained any or not. I hate to know their numbers because at 4:00 in the afternoon I don't weigh what my scale said at home at 6:00 in the morning naked, empty stomach and freshly emptied bladder! I don't need to hear a number that's going to send me into a state of depression!! LOL Had enough of that in my life!
Thanks for listening!

YAY! Thank God for good appts! Aren't you feeling more reassured to be able to hear your baby's heartbeat whenever you want? And not have to wait 4 weeks in between? Do you think it's giving you more peace of mind? I know it did for me. Since I've been able to feel her move, I don't use the doppler but once every two or three days. I know she has a heartbeat if she's moving! lol But it's still nice to hear her too on top of feeling her. So now you have the long wait until that 20 week ultrasound! That's always fun.....and full of suspense! Don't worry about the scale. It needs to go up a little so don't be discouraged. It's for an important cause!
I had my 12-week last week, and then yesterday had the nuchal translucency scan and a bunch of bloodwork (quad test). I have another appointment at 16 weeks and an ultrasound to tell the sex at 18 weeks. Thus far everything has felt exciting though (and it was so great to see the fetus yesterday!)
