5 hours in L&D.......
It had been raining here this morning and I went in to Wal Mart to get some cat food. Next thing I know, I am on the floor.....
I originally landed on my left knee, but my right leg came out from underneath me and went to the side.....a sort of modified split. I got so worried, I headed to the urgent care clinic right beside the store. They then sent me to the ER.......my doctor is 45 minutes away in another town at another hospital.
I get there and they send me to the labor and delivery floor......I am 21 weeks and the nurse wanted to hook me to a fetal heart monitor. When she did I heard nothing, so of course I started to tear up. Then she brought another nurse in who said since I was only 21 weeks it might hard to get the HB from a fetal monitor. They were able to find it with a doppler.....it was 148. And she was moving....you could hear it. I was ready to leave after that, but they wanted to put on a monitor to make sure I wasn't contracting or didn't contract for a little while. Thank goodness none of those. My knees are banged up, my back is twisted and my side hurts, but the dr said it would probably get worse because the ligaments and muscles are stretching for the pregnancy and now from the trauma of falling.
I have to rest for the next few days just to be on the safe side, and I placed a call to my OBs office to make sure they knew what happened. I am so glad to be home and know Anushka is OK.
Thanks for always listening!!

Thanks everyone!! It seems like if there hasn't been one thing to worry about, there is always another. (Everyone knows how I feel) It makes it really nice to be able to post on here and get support and a comforting ear/shoulder.
And yes, I am soooooo sore.....I didn't realize until I got home and laid down, then got back to go to the bathroom....my knees aren't working very well......
Hugs,
Sandy

A similar thing happened to me around 19 weeks. I was 1 1/2 away from my home and fell, mainly on my leg but it still freaked me out and I went to the ER also. They too took me to labor and delivery where they put this huge fetal monitor on and couldn't get any heartbeat. They did the dopplar and found it, did an ultrasound, took blood to make sure there wasn't any issues there. They were really thorough which was nice and it was so reassuring. I'm glad that everything was fine with you. It really is scary when something like that happens.
