I would call the OB just in case. They won't mind if you call and it is just gas pains but you won't be so kind of yourself if it is something more.

Are you constipated? The baby may have moved and is laying on something.

I would DEFINITELY call though

Good luck and keep us posted!

Hi there. I have regular super bad back and stomach pain that seems gas related. It almost always is accompanied by burping (&/or passing gas). I even was in the hospital at about 15 weeks because it was so bad I was in tears and my blood pressure was dropping. They never figured out what it is. The only thing that helps is to lay on my right side - so I think between the gastric bypass, previous C-Section and the pregnancy things are just getting pushed on. I'm now 22 weeks and it happens occassionally - but if I lay down right away it doesn't get bad enough that I'm crying or throwing up.

All that being said - it could be a thousand different things. I'm only sharing my experience. I'd definately talk to your OB! I was going into the office multiple times a week when it was at its worst. She ordered all sorts of labs (all normal) and tried a variety of different preggo safe meds. There is one that is for nausea that also helped the pain ease quickly.

Good luck. It stinks to hurt so bad.

Call the doctor, you'll feel much more at ease, even if it is gas. Yesterday I was in pain too and called the doctor, did what they said and today the pain is gone. So hopefully your doc will have some good suggestions. But it's better to play it safe and call.

I know this not going to be much help but. I had this same type of pain. I didn't go away until he was born. I went to L&D and sent me home with out even addressing the pain so I  called my doctor's office and they didn't seem to have answer either so I toughed it out. Haven't had a problem since and he is almost 3 weeks old.The pain usually got worse if I tried to eat. So I lost some weight in the last week before he was born. I woukld call your OB and let them know was is going on but it is most likely associated with gas. Good lck and hang in there!

LOL I call the OB for every little thing. That's what they are there for and they have been wonderful with me being paranoid. I called once from pains from being constipated. The dr was great and even had me laughing.

I don't want to scare you, but I had an emergency appendectomy  about 4 weeks ago when I was 21 weeks along. I was having terrible stomach pain that would not get better no matter what I did. I went into labor and delivery and found out that my appendix (sp?) was infected and had to come out. Apparently appendicitis is very common in pregnancy. I would urge you to see your OBGYN just to make sure everything is ok.

Call the OB.  I was having pain at the top of my stomach that radiated around to my back.  Apparently, it is my gallbladder.  Do you still have yours?

You're not even a year out from surgery yet and I'd be more concerned about something like an intestinal blockage. When we're pregnant after the RNY we're more at risk for them than someone with regular anatomy. Or you could be having contractions. Either way, you need to call your OB and be checked. I hope everything is ok!
