Nursing after TT

Anybody here breastfeed baby after TT.  My little one is 3 months old and breastfeeding.  I will have TT with MR surgery on Sunday at 6:30am.  Should be home by 3pm.  I have plenty of milk in the freezer and a great breast pump.  I know I can take my pain meds and nurse after anesthesia.  I want to know if I will physically be able to put baby on the Boppy pillow and nurse.  Has anybody done this.  She weighs 11 lbs.  I am so scared and feel guilty for doing this, and I will feel even worse if I have to give her a bottle.  Nursing is very important to me.  Thanks for your help.

Thank you.  My hubby is staying home until Thursday, so hopefully after that I will be okay on my own. :)

I had my hernia repair/tt when my daughter was 18 months old. I was only supposed to be in overnight but ended up being there 4 days. At the end of day 4, due to the pain and the pumping I was getting only 4 oz at a time total. I weaned her because the pain was so bad and it was just easier given her age to wean.

Since your baby is so little, I suggest living in a recliner for a week and keeping her near in a bassinette. I believe the weight limit for lifting was 10 pounds. You will feel if it is pulling and too much. Good luck to you! I have had friends come out without any pain at all. I had 15 pounds removed and 2 large and 3 small hernias repaired so it was a bit much.

Thank you.  Sounds like you've been through it!  Was it worth it?  I hope I am one that doesn't have much pain.  I hope I am doing the right thing.  I've already got her bassinette set up in the living room, now if I only had a recliner.... I have a couch with a bunch of pillows.  I will make do.  I don't have much extra skin.  Maybe a pound or two, but I know he wants to do muscle repair, I don't feel any separation but while he's in there might as well.....

It was worth it. I had a lot of flapping skin. It was awful. I had a baby after and the only weird thing was that I never looked pregnant.
