Non Stress Test Question
So I had an NST done today. I am 32 weeks with twins. They had a hard time keeping one of the twins' heartbeats on there long enough, so it was a long test. He is rather squirmy, and he hates when anything presses on my stomach. They were both active though. I had several contractions why I was there, but only one was strong enough to register. I was wondering what everyone's NST experiences were. Did you have BH contractions while you were there that didn't register, or are these not contractions at all? My uterus hardens for up to a minute with each, and some are pretty uncomfortable. I was just wondering if BH's don't always register because they aren't real, or if they should register.
Other than that,, everything else looks good. Thanks for the comments!

My BH's didnt register and neither did my real ones in the beginning of labor... I felt them in my back for the most part. I hated my NST's they had a very hard time keeping her on the monitor. Same thing while I was in labor they ended up doing an internal monitor. I had NSTs 2-3x a week after 34wks i dreaded them!

I know what you mean about a long NST... my first few they couldn't pin point both twins... the past 2 were good there right in the same spots now pretty much, I assume there running out of room.... But when I was 32 weeks it wouldn't pick up my BH, and last week it picked up a few of my contractions but not all... On Tuesday when I was in the hospital it picked up every contraction I had, which was a lot but they still sent me home cuz I guess they were just BH ... IDK *shrugs* So I am just hanging in there now waiting to see when the boys are gonna pick there date to be born...
Disclaimer: I do not want to scare you and remember tis was MY expierence and is probably very uncommon.
Now continuing. I do not know if this was due to my WLS or not and no I do not have much excess skin. In fact at the end when ready to pop I only had a small amount of skin at the bottom of my tummy that was only noticeable to me the rest of my skin had stretced with baby (and I had a very small baby bump). But back on topic..the NST monitors NEVER picked up my contractions. Even while in labor they never registered. I was having contractions back to back and super strong while on pitocin at its maximum dose and the dumb monitor still wouldnt read them (but read babys movement just fine). It eventually took an internal monitor and the dr was both shocked and scared with my contractions at that point because of the frequencies and magnitude...so be careful if while in labor its not tracing them and you know your having them.
Good luck!

I had a lot of those tightening/hardening contractions for the last month of pregnancy. They weren't painful or anything tho. They barely registered on the NST. I had to do an NST weekly from 32 weeks on. I hated them! I could not lay on my back or I would get close to passing out and my ears would start ringing. Sometimes they took forever also because the nurse would forget about me. Uugghh I'm glad that's over!
