New here and not far from trying!
Hi there!
Just wanting to make an introduction and tell you a little about myself. I had the VSG surgery on July 31, 2009. I have been married just over three years. One of the reasons I had the surgery was I wanted to be healthy to have a baby. Who knows if at 388 pounds I even ovulated? Well, I am down 144 pounds and am 3 months away from my 1 year anniversary. 1 year is the rule for my surgeon to even think about getting pregnant. August 1st and we begin! To prepare I found an OBGYN. I always just used my PCP for pap smears in the past. Well, I love her to begin with. She is amazing! She was familiar with my surgery which is important. We went over all of the vitamins I am taking to make sure I am getting enough. We talked about my age which could be a factor. I am 37, will be 38 in August. She seems optimistic that everything should go smoothly if I do get pregnant. I am scared and excited. 3 months can't come fast enough!
Anyway, I am not new to this site but new to this forum. I hope to lurk around and get involved as well. i am curious though, are there any people out there my age or older who are pregnant? Anyone who has had the sleeve?
Looking forward to this exciting adventure!
