Back from 38 1/2 wks appt....

So...'Bella is nowhere near as big as we expected.  She was measuring 5 1/2lbs last u/s which was about 6 wks ago.  This one, she is coming in at 6lbs, 11oz, her stomach is on the skinny side.  Which is weird because it has always been average.  I'm a little worried because they tell me it could be off 3lbs either way because u/s this far out are not accurate.  But I can't help but worry.  I hope she isnt losing weight!!!!!  And then I feel guilty since we are still going ahead with the induction on Monday so that her daddy can be there and MAYBE have some time with her before he has to go back to work.  They tell me it could literally go into Wednesday if my body doesnt respond to the Cervadil.  Lord I hope that stuff works quick!  But I totally am worried now though the doctor isn't and believes the baby is closer to about 7 to 7 1/2 lbs.  I have loads of amniotic fluid but not too much just "its great".  She says the fluid could be causing the pressure to be worse.

I am dilated to about 1 1/2 cm(she says she could stretch me to 2 and believe you me, the woman did!  She says, "i'm going to give you some more contractions!!!  yowza woman!)  and I'm a little over 50% effaced and she says that is really good progress for a first timer.  I really wanted a 3 but I'm greedy like that and as much pain as I have had, I just KNEW we'd be there.  No such luck.

So...we are scheduled to head in sometime Monday night(the L&D nurse will call us to tell us when) and they are gonna make me do an enema and I GET AMBIEN!  Hot damn!  The only bright spot there.  Except for getting to see my baby...I'll do anything to get there.

Sounds like Bella is doing just fine! 7- 71/2 pounds sounds like a good size for a baby to me! If the Dr isn't worried I wouldn't let yourself be either. You need to relax now right?!

Monday is only a few days away - I can't wait to hear all about it and see pics of your little girl!

Oh sure...brag about all your dilating.  I'm still sitting here never having had a contraction and less than a fingertip dilated.

Hang in there, Anne! It really does sound like your little one is just fine ... try not to worry too much. Rest will be really important this weekend! I hope it all goes well, and I can't wait to hear about it! 

 Wow you are so close!!! I will be thinking of you and your little one. I would say since you are already a little dilated I bet your body responds quicker to the Cervadil. Good luck, can't wait to ready the birth story and see the pics!

Ah Sarah...you at least know how to make me laugh!!!!   You dont KNOW that you havent had a contraction...and they arent fun!!!  Just think...you will be in the hosp Sunday all hopped up on cervadil(I am refusing the enema...how much crap could be in me if I have to stop eating Sunday nite at 12am and I might not even go into the hosp til 8?)...and AMBIEN.  I hope I don't have an AMBIEN moment and run get a cheeseburger....LOL.

Thanks everybody for the encouraging words.  I'm just paranoid about this bundle of joy.  I think I will feel much MUCH better once she is out in the real world.  I even HAD the doctor make sure the umbilical cord was NO where near her little neck.  I am crazy!

Baby's head is definitely in the pelvis, but she still has room to turn from "sunnyside up" to facing down.  Apparently, I was trying to go into labor, but the LO being in the faceup position(facing the world) is stopping it.  So...she said I would have had to be induced anyway since we would probably not have progressed w/o it.  She said "do a lot of hands and knees positions" til Monday.  All I could think about was "scooby doo" style...figure it out, grown folks...and kept busting out laughing and the doc was just looking at me like I lost my mind!

I just wanted to tell you that your Dr ethically would not do induction if he thought your baby was at risk. Additionally- both times they were wrong with the size of the baby...first baby they said was probably going to be 6 pounds or so...Nope she was just over 8 pounds.  Second baby they said would be over what her sister was because she "feels big" (that was my last week when they measure me - I was under as always..but she was big)...turns out she was 6 pounds, 10 oz.  So don't be to worried.  Good luck, you'll be holding her soon.
BTW- My niece is Isabella Sasha Grace.

Hi Anne! First off, breathe.

Remember I was induced. I was close to 2.5 cm dilated and 80% effaced when I got to L&D that Monday night (didnt know it because I didnt know I was having contractions lol). They used something similar on me to Cevadil...cytotec. It is a milder drug but does exactly the same thing (ask if they can use this instead as its lessens the chance of a c-section). They started everything at 3 am Tuesday morning and I had my little girl in my arms by 3:33 pm Wednesday afternoon. took me 24 hrs on cytotec before they would even start the pitocin. So you are more effaced than I was and you are having contractions so will prob be a 3 by time Monday comes. So it should go pretty fast (and 2 days is not bad promise).

My confusion is why cant you eat after 12? I was eating right up until I was placed in a room on the L&D floor with no concerns and I was a high risk with a high chance of needing a c-section. I was also able to eat inbetween the two rounds of cyotec so ask. And who needs an enema...I pooped on the table and I dont care lol. I was more afraid of farting in the drs face as I was sooo gassy that last week.

I have no idea why I can't eat!   IT sucks!  Its just the hospital's policy I think from what I read.  But it sucks!  I want food since I can FINALLY eat again.!   I am NOT doing the enema.  Thats what docs get the big money for...the poop...he he.  BUt seriously, with WLS, what would be left to enema out after clear liquids for almost 24 hours anyway?
