Yup, I got that wonderful feeling again. I have a call into my WLS and will hear back tomorrow since he is off on Thursdays. I also called the OB and they said if it has to be done to do it. I told them I would get to the point of not eating and they said it had to be done. LOL Someone said there are non surgical ways of fixing it so here's to hoping they are right!

Good luck! Can't they do an endoscopy and use a ballon to fix it?

Yup, but that requires being put under. At least my WLS prolly wont do the surgical method and just do this one more time. He said that would be what happens next.

What does it feel like when you have a stricture? I so curious!

Super proud mommy to Dylan, Owen and Sophia Brianne!

I have heard they hurt, but I have never had any pain. I have nausea and really don't have much of an appetite. I also have a feeling in the back of my throat that something is blocked there even tho it's not.

Hi Kathy,

I go into tomorrow for EGD and dilatation.  Since my RNY in 2007, I have had over 20 EGDs with dilatation.  This will be my first while pregnant......my surgeon and OB have both said that it is safe to do anesthesia in the second trimester....I'm not sure how far along you are.

At any rate, strictures are miserable.......I hope you get yours taken care of soon.!  Just wanted you to know you are not alone......

Hugs,

Sandy

I am just into my second trimester. I have had 3 so far. Two for a stricture and one for an esophageal web. It is nice to know that I am not the only one that is having it now.

Oh poor thing.  I did not realize we could get them this far out from surgery. I had to have 4 endo's for strictures but tthose were all at about 4-5 months post op.  No problems since thank goodness.  I thought they only happened during the healing process.

Good luck!
