My Achin Tush... TMI

So I am generally regular, since about 2 years post op I have been a stringent user of Metamusil, and every morning like clockwork... I go.. goal achieved as I would just assume not hang out on the pot any longer then necessary, seems a vulnerable place to lounge.  Perfect clockwork was the goal and it had been achieved.

Anyway, in this past week... I have noted the baby seems to be leaning back toward the intestines I guess...and putting quite a bit of preassure on the whole system back there... the result is multiple trips to the potty at various times of the day regardless of how good I am with what I am eating... and as a result the good old hemaroids are rareing...

I have invested in Prep H wipes, and am considering the cream... but I am wondering if there is a position change I can make to get her off the goods back there, or if I am stuck with this for the remaining 6 weeks of my pregnancy... I am hurting... and dreading every trip to the potty, and any seated position that follows... HELP!

Hi there! I am sorry you are so uncomfortable! Here are some tips from an article titled "Optimal Fetal Positioning' by Jean Sutton. I hope it helps, be dilligant, and maybe try sitting on an exercise ball for more comfort?

  • Avoid deep squatting
  • Use the 'knee to chest' position. When on hands and knees, stick your bottom (butt) in the air, to tip the baby back up out of your pelvis so that there is more room for him to turn around.
  • Sway your hips while on hands and knees
  • Crawl around on hands and knees. A token 5 minutes on hands and knees is unlikely to do the trick - you need to keep working at this until your baby turns. Try crawling around the carpet for half an hour - while watching TV or listening to music. It is good exercise as well as good for the baby's position!
  • Don't put your feet up! Lying back with your feet up encourages posterior presentation.
  • Swim belly-down, but avoid kicking with breaststroke legs as this movement is said to encourage the baby to descend in the pelvis [3]. You can still swim breaststroke, but simply kick with straight legs instead of "frogs' legs".
  • Try sleeping on your tummy, using lots of pillows and cushions for support."

I'm 24 weeks and got my first hemaroid today! I've been eating raisin bran every evening since first trimester - the prenantals did a job on me!

I got had my first experience with these horrid things late in my first pregnancy. All I can suggest is Prep H suppositories. :-( They work for me to resolve them and make me more comfy. They aren't as bad as they sound. They are small and slippery and easy to insert. CANNOT beleive I am writting this LOL!

Anyway - best of luck!
