39.5 week update!

Well I am due in 4 days.  They didn't check me this time, but my OB's office doesn't do routine checks just because it really doesn't matter.  The midwife told me they never let first time mom's go passed 41 weeks, which would be April 30. 

So here is the game plan.  I have a non stress test and ultrasound on Monday.  Then an OB appt on Wednesday, a week from today.  IF my LO is not here they are going to schedule an induction for the 29 or 30.  I feel SO much better knowing there is an end date in sight.  I am actually much more relaxed knowing that in 9 days at the most my baby will be here.  I am hoping she will come before Monday as I have been experiencing much more painful cramps and contractions in the last 2 days, but I've been in pre labor for a week and a half now.

The midwife said the baby is a "perfect size" for me right now.  When I lay down you can feel her whole outline, and she doesn't think my little girl is too big or too small right now.  Good news, I didn't gain ANY weight this week, which my midwife told me is actually a sign labor is coming soon, when you stop gaining weight.

So that's my update, I am so excited and oddly enough I feel like I can finally relax!

Karen! OMG, you must be getting so excited to meet your little one. I can't believe how close you are! You have an angel right? So we'll find out when she's her.

I bet now that you are relaxed about it all she comes on her own. 

How exciting! I know you can't wait to meet LO! S happy for you. I know about this final stretch.. I have 2 more weeks.

Just for hope- my first baby- at my "last" appointment which was on my due date...they scheduled a stress test, and another  appointment,. I was so bummed because I was ready to have legs, ankles, and be able to breath again...not to mention hold my baby...but that night my water broke after I got in bed. And my water breaking wasn't a horrible dreadful scene as I imagined it would be if it happened.  I heard this pop noise and asked DH if he heard the noise---then I realized I felt like I peed myself...stood up and waddled super fast to the bathroom.  It was definitely no pee. LOL I leaked the whole way from home to LD unit.  ( I sat with pads and towels on the way to the hospital) So I never had to wait the extra week for it all, and she was born 1 day after her due date. I'm hoping you have your little one soon.  Good luck!
