IUD Question (TMI)
Hi Everyone.
I don't know any of the terms y'all use on here so I apologize if my post is long LOL
I just had my IUD removed on the 8th because I would like to try to conceive. (TTC, right?)
2 days later, my monthly started. It hasn't stopped! It has a crazy mind of its own and has been heavy!!! Then last night it slowed down. Tried to have intimacy with hubby-out of no where, whoosh! Freaked him out!!!
When is this going to stop??!!!
Has anyone had this experience or have any suggestions/advice?
Thanks,
Jessica

I had an IUD for two years (04-06). When it was in I had no period at all and when I had it removed by periods immediately returned to normal.
I have also heard people who have it in and have normal periods and then bleed for 6-8 weeks after removal before returning to normal periods....its all how your body reacts but if you are concerned call your doctor and just let them know that you are concerned and they will let you know whats up!
Good luck TTC!

I had a Mirena IUD for 4 years. During that time I had no periods at all. After I got it out, (Sept 29, 2009) my periods returned to normal after about 30 days of having it removed. I got pregnant on or about Feb. 17, 2010.
I would call my doctor if I bled for that long!! Wouldn't hurt...
good luck

I had Mirena too...maybe 3 years? It's what I just had taken out.
It was sporatic the whole time. I usually had periods. Some were normal (when they had me on birth control pills at the same time-trying to combat the cyst). Other times I would spot off and on for 2 weeks.
It was very inconsistant the entire time I had the IUD in.
I figured if they were going to keep sticking me on birth control pills (plus the IUD) than why have the IUD in the first place.
I'm hoping the fact that I'm on a low dose bc right now, and that I'm horrible about remembering to take them, and only 2 years post op, that I stand a chance of getting pregnant. The only reason I'm on the bc is because they say I have another cyst and the bc seems to help.
Thanks for the help :)
