3D/4D Ultrasound

Just curious if anyone out there has had a 3D/4D ultrasound before? We are going to have one done this evening. It's not for diagnostic purposes, just for pictures. I know that sounds silly, but I work at a hospital and asked the Radiologist if it's safe and he said absolutley. He said the quality and images are amazing and to go for it! My OBGYN says it's safe also and doesn't effect the baby. So, we are having one done this evening. Just curious to see if anyone else has had this done and if the images are really different from the standard ultrasound pictures. I heard you can really see the baby's features etc.

We were going to have one done, but we decided we wanted to be surprised and wait to see her when she gets here.

The pics I've seen of them are amazing, the baby looks identical to when he or she is born.  You can see exactly what they look like.  Good luck and have fun!

Thanks! My mom said the same thing about waiting to be surprised and i am on the fence about it... I think my husband is more excited then me. LOL

Had one done at 22 weeks gestation and going for another (got a package deal) this coming Saturday.  We also did it just for pics and for my hubby to be able to be present (he is military) and see for himself.. the experience was awesome! Some say its tantamount to "cheating" but I think it's so unimportant because really I won't KNOW what my baby looks like until the moment of his birth.. Congrats. I am 29 weeks along and counting every single day! LOL
