I like it better with an "i" but I don't think either way that it sounds masculine. I wouldn't have ever thought about it being a boys name.

I think Sage is an awesome name for a little girl.  I don't like it with the 'i' but my opinion doesn't matter.  :o)

It's funny you talk about unisex names, my son is Dylan and my daughter is Cassidy and they are both unisex names.  I didn't do that on purpose, I just wanted a name that wasn't too popular.

I like it spelled Saige, personally (and obviously this is my own personal opinion not meant to upset you) but i work at a university and we have a few students named Sage, and all are boys..
I think Saige would make it more feminine in my opinion only, and of course if you name her Sage then more power to you and I am sure she will love the name, and so will your family. :)

Since we are using Sage as our middle name for our little girl, I obviously think it's a feminine name. I am with you on spelling things weird. I like the traditional spelling of Sage.

Karen,

I think you can go either way. I know a girl named "Saige", and I know a guy named "Sage". Really it fits both of them just fine.

Personally, I prefer the simpler spelling of Sage. Girl or boy.

Good luck!
