I noticed that some of the other threads have amount of what you eat and what you eat in general. Anyone help me out on changes? What do you do for cravings? Or any healthy craving suggestions? How much your amounts have changed each Trimester? I don't want to gain tons of weight.

WEll my NUT, Surgeon and OB all agreed on this:
1500-1800 calories (less in the beginning more at the end)
90 grams of protein
100 grams of carbs

I am almost 36 weeks and up 16 pounds. I wasn't to goal yet but I am 3 1/2 years out.

Hope that helps!

The world of Moderation... the cause of and solution to all of lifes problems... LOL.  Having fruit and veggies coming out my ears on hand at all times has helped me a great deal.  I have wanted chocolate and had some here and there, but other then that I havent had bizarre craving, just find that I feel hungry more often then I used to.  One thing I have noticed is my body/brain doesnt seem to know the difference between heartburn and hunger... so when I feel famished and know its only been an hour or two... I grab a couple tums... and it fades... I would say that has probably helped me more then self control has.

Oranges,  Cucumbers, Carrots, Kiwis, Blueberries, and Strawberries have been consumed in mas quantities.  The first trimester I was more hungry... Second trimester I was in control... now at 33 weeks, I think I WANT EVERYTHING, but a few bites of anything and I have no room, to which I am greatful for.  I have put on 19 lbs, the Doc said that was right on target, as I started "over weight" officially.

It is very hard to watch the scale go back up... at all... Even being mentally prepared for it... there are some numbers you might see that you swore youd never see again.  Put that out of your mind by telling yourself that teaching your baby healthy eating habbits starts right now... That has helped me too... I might want a Ding Dong, but I remind myself I really dont want to start those habits with my baby, I want her to have every chance at not experiencing the weight issues I have fought all my life...

Good Luck

my doctor wanted me to gain AT LEAST 20 pounds at the VERY LEAST. so i have exceeded his expectations with a whopping 28-31 so far. i was very concerned about this but my doctor kept telling me to try and put things in perspective and to keep in mind it's all baby and to think about the baby's health and well being. i have found that i am able to eat more and don't get sick on the foods that made me sick before- that's why i am trying to be careful. i did very well on my walking at first and i signed up to do a half marathon once the baby is born (3 months later) and hopefullyl that will keep me motivated and focused. i think the best advice is to watch what you eat and stay away from junk just like before.

i honestly think my doctor would be dissapointed in me if i was any further along and hadn't gained at least 20pounds by now.

Thank you so much for the replies! We already have the heads up on the bedrest because of my incompetent cervix so that's why weight gain really bothers me. All in all, I just want my baby here safe and healthy!
