With my last baby, I got my epidural super early (long story short, pitosin was used to induce, contractions were strong as HELL but dialation was super slow, got epidural @ 2cm and labor was 22 long hours total).
I had really bad back pain afterwards and it lasted for days. My mom (who is not a medical professional) said it was because of the epidural. I was walking hunched over for days all because of my back.
I'm wondering if the backpain will be less intense if I have an epidural for less amount of time? I'm not being induced this time (unless something happens and I have to, but I can see the finishline now so I don't think it's going to happen) and if things go "normally" then I'll only have an epidural for a few hours, maybe 6-8 at most... versus 17-18 hours last time.

I had mine in for about 8-10 hours and I had back pain as well as the horrible headache. I actually forgot about the back ache until you just mentioned it and now I remember having a heating pad on my back cause it hurt. I just thought it was from straining all my muscles trying to push, I never made the connection with an epidural.
