Hello~
I have a silly question. I am scheduled for a c-section in May. I had gastric bypass 3 years ago. Honestly the pain after the GB surgery was not as bad as I expected. I thought it was going to be much worse. Don't get me wrong there was pain but not what I thought. My question is those of you who had gastric bypass and a c-section (either before or after surgery) which pain was worse after the surgery? Some people I know that had gastric bypass say that the c-section pain was so much more painful then the bypass and then vice versa. I know that everyone's pain tolerance is different but I am just curious as to what everyone has to say.
Thanks!!

I would definitely say C-Section is worse. It is a large, open, abdominal incision that goes through the muscle wall. I did not have Bypass. I had the Sleeve, but the incisions are the same. I was up walking comfortably just a few hours after my Sleeve. With my C-Section, it was a good week before I could walk up-right without guarding my belly. I got around the next day. It just wasn't comfortable. I wish you the best of luck. You'll do great : )
I have had 4 abdominal surgeries, and my c-section was BY FAR the easiest one - even easier than appendix! I guess it depends on your body. I'd take a c-section again over anything else. With laproscopic surgeries they pump you full of that gas, which may be the worst part, but you don't have that with a c-section. Plus, you're only cut in 1 place, and they cut along the grain of the muscles, rather than against it.
I was pleasantly surprised how easy my c-section was. I have another in September and hope it's as easy as the first.
