Charlie Horses and cramps
Has anyone had this issue....
Let me start off by saying I just had my blood work done and everything came back LOW so I know that could be a factor.
I get charlie horses (ok one) at night but it lasted for 5 days. NOW My feet keep cramping. I'm not talking about like a little pain I'm talking you can see my toes distorting and sticking together and my foot curling up. I can't put any pressure on it and I have to sit and wait it out.
What is going on?
I'm just curious and had a minute to post.
I see my OB monday and I am 29 weeks.
I wake up sometimes(more recently aLOT) with cramps in my calves so bad I am screaming when I wake up. Now I used to get these when I was a little girl and my potassium was low I guess. I started eating bananas back then and it went away. However, even bananas aren't helping now. The only thing that stopped the one that I had last night was actually getting up and walking around on it. I have no idea why it worked, but it did.
Are you low on potassium?? I know that that can cause them as can calcium being low.

Hi, I am 30 wks and just now starting to get toe cramps and feeling the charlie horse coming on, but I catch them right away. I hate getting charlie horses, lol. My Dr. said these are common in the third trimester. Plus now I've noticed my legs are swollen at night not a good thing, I'm going to ask my Dr. on weds when I go in to see her. I hope the cramps get better for you.
What I've found about these w/ me is more of dehydration and too much sitting in one position at a time. That is just me.
They have been linked to low Bs, low calcium, etc. If you do a Google earch you'll see there are more questions than answers.
Last pregnancy I added a multivitamin every other day in addition to my prenatal and it seemed to do the trick. This time around I do 5 minutes n the treadmill right before bed if I start to get the feeling.
Good luck with them. They suuuuuck.
