2 months post-op appear to be pregnant freaking out
I just took a test and it was a cheap o Dollar pregnancy test so maybe it is not right. The 2nd line was faint but there and it claims that is a positive. I am only 2 months out from the Sleeve and I am also worried cause I haven't been taken my vitamins right/ or really at all. Do you think if Everything was OK the fact that I didn't take vitamins would damage the baby in some way. I am 4 weeks(only late a couple days) and will be diligent about vitamins from now on. I am freaking out, I think maybe it is wrong but have this bad feeling it is true. please respond I am so worried and don't know being this early out from surgery how I should handle this or what others have been told
Hi love! There have been ALOT of women on the board that got prego early out. I actually remember a story of a woman that they did the RNY on only to find out two weeks later that she was pregnant!!! Her baby was absolutely healthy. The thing is, you need to make sure you let your surgeon know and your ob know right away. And...you need to make sure you are diligent about those vitamins from NOW ON. Also make sure you eat enough carbs to keep you out of ketosis(not sure if that applies to the sleeve...it does to RNY).
They will probably pay close attention to your pregnancy, but there is NO reason that you can't have a healthy baby too. They dont like it when we get pregnant early out, but it is certainly not a forgone conclusion that everybody will make it 18 months before they become prego. We get really fertile when we start losing!
Just inform the OB, the surgeon, and your nutritionist and they will come up with a plan for you!
Good luck, and congrats!

Everything will be ok! I was 2 mo out when I got pregnant also. Make an appointment w/ an OB, your surgeons office, and a Nut so can have all your ducks in a row. I had a different surgery so I don't want to give you advice about vitamins but you NEED to take them every day! Even if you aren't pregnant make sure to take them because if you don't there could be some very serious consequences. You are way to early out to already be skipping your vitamins. That is a habit you need to establish right away because it is lifelong maintenance when you have had WLS. (sorry for the rant I have just heard some sad stories about post ops not taking vits) As for your pregnancy - get another test to be sure. You can have a very healthy pregnancy and still be a success in weight loss! I did!! :-)
Good luck!

Took a digital test, it is official, I am pregnant. I am so scared I feel like this will ruin my surgery. I know I am in control and certainly much more than before I just don't know. I am supposed to be taking a BA chewable iron , BA 6 multivitamin caplets, 2-3 calcet chews Daily and 1 BA sublingual b-12 a week. Does this sound OK for now until I get further info or were you told to up a certain vitamin right away
need extra folic acid...at least 400 mcg a day..maybe more. I was so paranoid about it...I took 1200mcg a day. Good news? There is no toxicity on folic acid...but there is a bad side of taking too little. Up that folic...you DO NOT want neural tube defects or spina bida in your baby
