Question about BH contractions

So I have been getting what I am assuming are Braxton Hicks contractions daily now. I'd say maybe 10-12 a day unless I am really stressed then there are more. What the feeling is is a tightness at the top and then working it's way down. Some of them are uncomfortable but rarely painful. Sometimes it ends with a pain very low, almost cervical.

I'll see how I do this weekend and if it gets worse or keeps up I'll call on monday.

Thanks!

Hey Liz !
You're a little early for labor, lady! I must nag slightly ... I know you are super busy and active, but are you still doing too much? That can really bring BH on. That being said, it can be totally normal to have them for a month up til labor ... Its your body moving that little bug into position and starting to get you ready! Woo hooo! I agree that you should call Monday if they remain steady. Here we go! :-)

*hangs head in shame* yes I am probably doing too much. It is hard to switch to the "sit and rest" mode! I am forcing myself to rest more and more. I am also letting work stress roll off my back.

Thanks so much! Yep 35 days and counting 'till my due date!

I know for a fact I still over due it... were due at like the same time and I got the 2 trouble makers in my belly and I get some wicked BH contractions... I feel everything it seems I think it's cuz this is my second pregnancy, plus with the twins.  With my daughter I didn't even feel contractions until I was in labor...lol  But my feet are swelling now and the doc says I need temp bed rest... So I try and take it more easy... It's just hard to do while chasing a 2 year old around 24/7... Any who take it easy...

Ive been noticing braxton hicks contractions myself over the last three days. I didnt really give them a second thought, untill the girls where telling you its to soon. Should I be worried that im having them at just 25 weeks? My tummy gets hard as a rock, and sometimes I feel pressure in my cervix at the same time, but no pain (other than the pelvic pain from the torn ligament...) Can you let me know? Thanks!

Super proud mommy to Dylan, Owen and Sophia Brianne!

My sister-in-law had braxton hicks from month 4 on....  (we were doing a charity bike ride when she first got them).  She's a doctor (family doctor, but you'd be surprised at how many women don't see an OB/GYN and so she's delivered quite a few babies!) and she said that BH are "practice".

Well she had a lot of practice.....and my niece was born 7 minutes after her water broke!  7 minutes!  Thank goodness her water broke while she was in the hospital working!

My nephew born 15 months after my niece was born 4 minutes after her water broke (again she was already in the hospital working).

My brother joked that if they have any more they are just going to live in the hospital because he can't risk her water breaking at home.

I, on the other hand, had only 2 days of BH contractions -- well one day it might have been real around week 33 when the doctor stopped them and then again around week 36 when they stopped themselves.  After that I rarely got them.... if ever.  Maybe one or two after I was past 40 weeks until I went into labor at 40 weeks 5 days (had Cooper 40 weeks 6 days).

So I guess I'm saying.... you're lucky?  Maybe you'll delivery fast and easily like my sister-in-law!

(Although I'm sure there are others who will say they had tons of BH and had hours and hours of delivery - think positive!)

I went through a period where I was having a lot of BH. My doc told me to stop burning the candle at both ends and make sure to get plenty of water. I was definitely burning the candle at both ends and shamefully I wasn't getting enough fluids. I fixed both and the BH eased up drastically. I still get them almost daily but not as intense and not near as many. When I was 35 weeks I was having so many I actually thought I was in labor and went to L&D. They stopped after I laid down for a little while. Now whenever I start getting frequent, regular, strong BH I always sit down and rest for a little while and they always ease up.
