She's a BIG Girl...and a question

So I had another u/s yesterday. Little Miss Lorelai is measuring a little over 2 pounds. That's above the 90th percentile. I also have a little extra fluid so they want me to do my GD test right away. I'm going tomorrow. I am really hoping that she's just a big girl and I don't have GD. Big babies tend to run in my family and my hubbies, so hopefully that's all it is.

So here's a question. I am doing the test where you fast, then have your blood drawn, then go eat and have your blood drawn again 2 hours later. If you had that test, did your doc want you to eat anything in particular?

those percentage things are funny... jaylyn always measured big.. shes was 5 lbs 3 oz at 33 weeks... but was born only at 7 lbs 3 oz at 39... so you never know... and in reference to the test... they said eat how you would normally eat

that is the test i had done...i fasted for 12 hrs then had the blood drawn then i went to panera and had a four cheese souffle and iced tea....i figured i had protein and and some carbs that way...i had some fruit too. then had my blood drawn again...good luck! :)

I had to eat the following:

2 pieces of toast w/ butter & jelly
1/2 c milk
1/2 c plain cheerio's w/ milk & 1 pkt of sugar
1 banana

I ate normally for the test too- in fact, I had something a little sweet to drink. I figured it would be more real life that way. I passed with no problems.

I'm glad Lorelai is doing well! And I LOVE her name- always one of my favs. Good luck!

they firgure out the bigness of the baby by certain measurements.... they thought my son would be a 10lber turns out he just has a big head (80th percentile) lol. his head measurement threw everything off lol.
