Its been awhile since I've been on, but I'm back. Much has happened since I was last here, including finding out that i'm having problems with my potassium on top of my b12 deffiency, and hypoglymic issues (which they still can't get under control). It seems like there is one problem right after another with some kind of vitamin defficiency going on with me. It's to a point where I have no energy, I'm drained, and the constant stress of work is putting in me in tears every night as even though the baby is fine, mommy feels like I need to just go to bed until this pregnancy is over (im only 20 weeks). This is my third pregnancy and I have NEVER felt like this in any of the other two.

The question is that I work full time as a manager for a photography studio with constant demand of energy with children/adults, on my feet all the time, and many other issues. It is so bad at times that I'm clinging to the walls for support, and I'm having customers asking me if I'm all right because of my pale face and not seeming myself. By the time I get home I'm in tears as I'm so exhausted and I'm at wits end on what I should do. I'm not qualified for FMLA because I've only been with this company since mid-November and FMLA requires to be on with a company for at least 12 months, but I am not sure how much longer I can take the heavy demands at work with me feeling the way I do. My boss even told me that once I get back from maternity leave that I may or may not have a job, as well as I think they are trying everything in their power to "bully" me into quitting since I announced my pregnancy a few months ago. My family is worried sick about my health and this babies - I was told to look into short-term disability instead. Does anybody know if this is possible for me, how about I can obtain this, or you think I should just suck it up and just hold off?

Short Term Disability is just that pretty short... and varies from company to company as to what insurance they buy or allow you to buy into, and what percentage of your income they provide for the time that you are off.  For the last three companies that I have worked for all have offered a minimum that they pay for... which allowed for up to 6 months off work at 50% pay, from their I had to buy/add to the premium on a monthly basis if I wanted a larger percentage... I usually payed up to 70% of my base pay and that insurance came out taxed at about 160 a month or so.

Take a look at your pay stub, are you paying for STD?  If not talk to your HR department and find out if your company does... If they dont... the only kind of Disability that you can "get" potentially that I am aware of is Social Security Disability... and that may well be a long term fight to get.  In general SSI doesnt do much with short term cases... and if one seeks long term, SSI usually denys first and makes you prove you need it, which is time consuming when you need money coming in.

Please in the mean time talk to your docs about the scripts that they can offer to help you with your deficiencys.  Keep well hydrated as well which in pregnancy seems to be the answer to every ailment.  Good Luck to you... Stay healthy and keep me posted.
