Shower Question
I am due August 27th. The high risk OB said that she feels I will be delivered or induced by mid August. I don't know why but that is what they said.
So, my personal shower hostesses want to throw a shower. They are starting to work on a date. We live in a large mextroplex and meeting locations fill up fast. So, they were looking at June 19th. The issue is June 26th is the weekend before July 4th weekend and one hostess is on vacation. Then, another is on vacation the weekend of July 4th through the weekend of July 10th. So, that leaves going into mid August (4 weeks before potential delivery) or going to June 19th which is 8 weeks before potential delivery. Ettiqute books says it is fine to host one to two months before delivery and allow time for parents-to-be to put things away, put together items, etc.
So, if you were me - what date would you go??? I just don't want to be too early.

I'd go with the June 19th date. I'd rather have it early than late. That way at least you know if there is anything you need that you didn't get. My shower was only 3 weeks before Matthew was born and it was a rush to get everything ready. I was still putting things away when my water broke a week before my scheduled c-section date.
I would go with the 19th as this way allthe hostesses can enjoy their planning efforts and others should also be able to attend without worry of holiday and summer conflicts. I do not think it is too early. 2 months is about right so as you said you can put things away, together, and get the items you may not be given during the shower and plan for them.
