Right Arm Pain- Weird

Hello Ladies- I need some advice on some weird arm pain I am having.  Last night I went to write out an address on an envelope and it was like I had no control over my hand.  I was writting like someone who has had a stroke is the best way I can put it.  Freaked me out, so I just steped away, tried to do it again a while later and I had better control but was still a little off. 

So this morning, I notice that my arm has this dull pain and is rather sore.  My hand writting was a little "off" here and there all day.  I also noticed my thumb was really shakey all day as I used my iphone. My arm still had the pain.  The pain is mostly in my upper arm, not really in my lower arm, but the effects seems to be in my hand.

Any ideas?  If its still like this tomorrow I was going to call the doc.  Which is another question, what doc do I call? My ob?  My family doc? ( who is usually no help for anything other than colds and flu)

It could be a pinched nerve- I have had one and it was similar. It could also be something more serious. If your family Doc isn't good, try your OB and explain the pain. They may be able to recommend someone or order tests themselves. I would get it checked out though. Best of luck.

I would ask about pregnancy carpal tunnel.

I have never been pregnant, but I am a physical therapist.  It is very common in pregnancy to have swelling (so minute that you might not notice) can compress nerves and cause numbess, tingling, and pain.  This is usually quite normal, but I would let my ob know if I were you.  Hope this helps.
