hi everyone...i am 14 months post op and am 10 weeks pregnant.  i am naucious all the time and am having a hard time keeping anything down.  i am worried about having a healthy pregnancy.  any suggestions?  i was also wondering, how much weight have your doctors been telling you is safe to gain after rny surgery?  my doc says 15lbs which seems a little crazy, but hey...i don't know much about this.  thanks for anyones input :)

The good news is that he baby has it's own food source until around week 12-14. I have heard both numbers. Strangely enough, that's when most morning sickness goes away. Don't stress out about the eating. As long as you are not dropping pounds it should be all good. If you do start losing (I am talking pounds not just a pound here or there. I loss 4 pound in less than a week and got the OB's attention.) let your OB know so they can check your urine for ketones.

My surgeon's office follows my OB's recommendation for weight gain. I am not too sure about that but I am sure they will tell me eventually. ;)

Eat what will sit and try and get some carbs in to keep yourself out of ketosis. Drink things like gatorade or powerade zero - whatever you can tolerate. I lost 15 pounds in the first trimester and my baby is measuring right on schedule at 34 weeks.

I was told 25-35 pounds unless you still have quite a bit of weight to loose, the heavier you are to start the less they want you to gain.

Good luck and congrats on the pregnancy!
