TTC after RNY

Hi all! I had RNY in oct of '08. I had a DD in 6/05, got preggo first try, and now i'm 129 lbs lighter & my cycles are shorter & been ttc since 7/09 with no luck. Hubby lost job, so only minimal insurance, no infertility coverage.......any thoughts, suggestions?!?!? I desperately want another baby! (will be 37 in July) Thanks in advance for your help

Hi there. The average time for a healthy couple ttc is about 8 months. They recommend trying for a year if under 35 and 6 months if over 35...then seeking advice from an ob or RE. Since insurance is an issue you could track your cycles on fertilityfriend.com and get some ovulation test strips to make sure you are timing things right. Let me know if you need more help. Shari

Shari is one of our guru's. I agree with the fertilityfriend.com charting. I also bought the book "taking charge of your fertility" and it was a huge help!

I went off my BC the end of January and conceived in April, miscarried in June, given the go ahead in July and was pregnant again in August - I'm now almost 35 weeks! 

I was told pre-op that I wouldn't be able to have kids because of PCOS with insulin resistance. Guess we proved them wrong! lol

i had used fertility friend and opk (ovulation predictor kits) and i was not having any luck so i switched to using a clearblue easy fertlity monitor i bought it on ebay, it was cheaper. so that and temps and charting for 3 months and got pregnant with molly she is 11 months old. I have PCOS and the monitor was able to pinpoint my "o" date better.
