update on blood work and urine
So it looks like I may be developing preeclampsia. I woke up with swollen feet today and my BP has stayed just a little bit elevated. My OB hasn't called me yet, but my PCP looked up the lab results for me today and she called me and let me know. She sent me my blood work and the protein in my urine was very high and so were my fibrinogen levels were also high. My liver functions were fine but my PCP thinks this may be the start of preeclampsia. Of course I wont know anything for sure until my OB calls me, probably on Monday, but he did say if I had any abnormalities in my blood or urine they would induce. Just praying the baby will be OK, that's all I'm worried about at this point!

thank you Amy. I did not want to be induced, but if I have to it kind of takes the pressure off of going into labor on my own.

yea I know, my OB is a team of Dr's so the one who ordered the test might not even be in today. I may call the hospital tomorrow and ask the Dr on call.

I'm thinking of you, Karen!
Here's to keeping that baby in as long as possible without doing any harm to yourself!

(BTW - I will echo what others have said..... a lady I worked with had BAD BAD BAD preeclampsia - her legs were blown up like beach balls - she couldn't even wear flip-flops. They kept her baby in until 26 weeks and had to deliver the baby and the baby is over a year and both she and her baby are great!)

Thanks Cindy! I called the hosp today and they told me to call back Monday to talk to my Dr. BUT I have been having contractions all day today. About 20-30 minutes apart, but painful. Hopefully they will get closer and maybe I will go into labor all on my own. We will see!
