Almost there

Well at basically 38 weeks, I am almost there.  I did spend Monday in L&D for little movement with the baby.  My blood pressure of course was up and had a little swelling.  They did a 24 hour urine, which must have turned out well because dr. office didn't call me yesterday with any other news.  I had another u/s yesterday (unplanned) but because of her drastically reducing her movement and high BP they wanted to check her out...(Of course, I am not complaining).  I was hoping they would tell me yesterday we would induce now instead of in ten days, but of course yesterday my little girl was a perfect star, so they said no need to everything has gone back to perfect  She is now close to 5 1/2 pounds (gained 9 oz in two weeks).  I told my husband, as ready and uncomfortable as I am; I am more thankful she is doing okay even if it is ten more days of this.  We of course have been trying to move it along quicker, but since it's my first, she probably isn't going to come earlier than the ten days.  I have decided today will be my last officially day at work and I will work fom home two days next week and take the others off as maternity leave.  I have appts basically every day this week.  NSTs; u/s and weekly appt...which will be the one we set the date for the big induction.

Congrats, and boy do I feel you on the waiting!  I will have a c-section on April 23rd (once i lost my weight we discovered i had HUGE fibroids - so a year ago i had surgery to remove 5 pounds of fibroids and doc essentially reconstructed my uterus.... so, cannot handle labor contractions, hence c-section).  I'm just ready to meet my boy! 

I hope you have had a good pregnancy - and i'll be wishing you and your daughter the very best!! 

I wonder if you have not had heartburn?  Soooo many women talk about the 3rd trimester heartburn, but i haven't had any - which i suspect is b/c i don't use my stomach... so the acid build up isn't there...

Mary, I haven't had heart burn at all...I can eat even really spicy stuff, and no problems.  I know you are getting excited like me!  Good luck in this final couple weeks!  Stacey
