Hi Amanda-
I just wanted to wish you well in your surgery and I hope that it brings you that much closer to being a mommy. I'm sorry to see that you had 3 M/Cs last year. I had 3 between last year and the beginning of this year as well(2/09, 9/09, & 1/10). It does take you to a dark place and it's hard to force yourself out of there somedays. I'm glad to see that you still have hope. It's hard to cling to some days when you're unsure if you can see a light at the end of the tunnel. I know it's hard sometimes but keep faith that one day soon you will have a sweet little baby that is all yours. If you ever want to talk, I'm around.

Hi Amanda -
I haven't been on the OH website in about a year... which was when i had a miscarriage (well, a DnC after the little sprout stopped growing at 7.5 weeks...) I just... couldnt...
Anyway, wanted to tell you my surgey tale - After i lost 150 pounds, i discovered these lumps in my uterus... turned out to be large fibroids.
I went to fertility doc to assess things - and all seemed good, and doc said well the fibroids might or might not cause a M/C if pregnant.... i was 41 at this time, so didn't want to wait and decided to risk it... so, got pregnant and lost the baby as mentioned about. Doc's partner said he thought the fibroids likely did not cause the problem, but he thought i probably would have lost the baby at 5 or 6 months because of them... so, knowing that, I decided to have the surgery to remove them... and did so (another laparoscopic/robotic surgery). They removed 5+ pounds of huge fibroids and re-sewed my uterus, and viola - i had a normal uterus again... So I waited the 3 months necessary and tried to get pregnant again (was now 42). And did! That baby grew... and I will have a c-section to deliver my son on April 23rd (am now 43 - barely).
So, it is possible to successfully carry a pregnancy after removal of fibroids/polyps/cysts etc. which can be detrimental to full term pregnancies! I bet this will happen for you - since you are like I was, clearly fertile!!
I will be hoping you have much success in your quest once you can try again!
Best of luck - from someone whose path has not been that dissimilar...
Mary
