what is the differance between these tests?

So I understand that for the post paridinal (sorry spelling) you fast. Get your blood drawn to check sugar levels. Then eat and go back later to check sugar levels again. My doc has ordered this and a fasting blood sugar test. I am confused. Isn't the fasting blood sugar included in te first. I don't wanna be giving up double vials of blood for no purpose. I have a serious issue with the vampires.

I'm not sure that there is a difference. I went in for my fasting blood draw. Left, ate a "normal" breakfast and went back to have another draw exactly 2 hours later. By that point I needed to eat again (they don't get this whole pregnant with RNY  and hypoglycemia thing) so it was actually LOWER at the second draw! lol

Oh and it is a venous stick, not just a finger *****
