It's a...
GIRL! Yup, Elijah is going to have a baby sister :-).
She was moving constantly but I couldn't feel it--the tech explained that I have an anterior placenta (at the front of the uterus) and that's why I haven't felt the baby move more frequently, regularly, or strongly; it's like a big, squishy pillow buffering the movements. The doctor said that's also why they've had trouble finding her heartbeat with an exterior ultrasound. What a relief to know why!!!
She looks perfectly healthy, everything developed and functioning as it should. No signs of Downs Syndrome, which at my age is a HUGE relief. The doctor said an anterior placenta is not ideal for a c-section but he hopes it will move up the uterus "like a monkey climbing up a tree." Instead of a week ahead she's about three days behind now but I'm sure that will change again. Her heartbeat was 158 and she weighs about 9 ounces. My stats (BP, etc.) are excellent too.
Thank you all for your words of reassurance last week.

Congratulations! Sounds like things are going pretty good for you.
I was just wondering (if you don't mind) how old are you? I am 36, will be 37 when I deliver, and this is my first pregnancy. I am also worried about Downs Syndrome and other problems that can come with age. I thought they could do a blood test for that around 12 weeks. What have they done to check your pregnancy for this?
Thanks for any info. I'm a HUGE worry-wort!!

I know you are not asking me but I thought I would respond. You have a blood test and scan at 12 weeks. On the scan they are looking at the measurement of the fold of the back of the neck. Then, you repeat blood work around 16-18 weeks with another ultrasound for antamoy scan. Nothing is 100% other than an amnio but they can give you estimated guess with the two blood tests and ultrasounds.
