Well....a little bit of progress

So I went for my 36 week appointment and had my first cervix check, GBS swab and all that fun.

I'm 50% effaced and 1/2 a centimeter dialated.  I was hoping for more but afraid I wouldn't even be that far.

Also found out that she won't be letting me go past 39 weeks because I'm Type II Diabetic.  My control has been great so I'm not having a large baby.  She was in the 45th percentile at 34 weeks.  I'm also having NSTs twice a week but she doesn't want to take any chances and I agree.  I really wanted to go into labor spontaneously and avoid induction but it looks like that won't happen unless I go early on my own.

So, looks like I'll be meeting my little girl in the next 3 weeks!

Wow, 3 weeks!! That's so exciting!! Hopefully you'll go into labor spontaneously before then and won't have to worry about induction.

Wow! What exciting news!

So...I am jealous.  I was 50% effaced last week(34wks 5 days) but not dilated at all!!!!  Hopefully when I get checked tomorrow I will have more progress.  I have been walking 3 times a day and sitting on my exercise ball bouncing and moving my hips around trying to get this baby to go down.  The farther into your pelvis they go, the more progress we make.  I keep thinking I feel more now down there so if nothing else, maybe I have effaced more?  I dunno!  They say they are inducing me at 38 or 39 wks...so we could still be due date buddies.  I want to have her on April 20th...and if not, I am requesting he pull me from work around then.  If those idiots dont have it by then, they just arent gonna get it(at my job!)

Well 1/2 a centimeter is really nothing.  But she was able to feel the head and said she's engaged.  If you were 50% effaced before I bet you're a centimeter or two when they check you tomorrow.

I'm hoping I can get the induction scheduled at next week's appointment so my Mom can arrange to be here.  That's the one good thing about being induced, I can plan things out and my Mom can be here with me (I live in AZ and she's in CO).  I'm requesting 4/22 or 4/23 if that works with my doctor's schedule.

I know!  But just being able to say you are dilated....I'm mad!  My baby won't engage.  She is head down but refuses to go into the pelvis.  She'll start that way and then she floats back up.  UGh...
