upate and i have a poopy question
So induction is still scheduled for Monday night April 5th at 10 pm. I am nervous and scared but excited all at the same time. My biggest fear is needing a csection which I am almost sure is in my near future (I know I am being a negative Nancy). Last checked at last week Mondays appt she was weighing in at 4lbs 7oz and 2 weeks before that she was 3lbs 4oz. Hopefully by Monday she will be over 5lbs...I have an NST and u/s today and I am going to beg and see if the tech will do a growth scan for me since this is my last check and view at baby girl before induction.
My question now, I know I am not dialated AT ALL (or at least I wasnt 2 weeks ago). I am also pretty backed up and I can tell cause everytime I eat I get an uncomfy sickie feeling which only happens when I need a good cleaning out. I have always just left it alone and my body would usually get it done in a few days. But I do not want to go into my induction monday night being full of it lol. Now Ive read that castor oil can "help" ripen the cervix and bring on contractions as well as cause you to go potty. Is it worth it? If so how much would I take? Also would milk of magnesia do the same thing and/or have the same effects? If so how much of that would I take? I have never taken anything to move my bowels along except maybe eat a few prunes but my clock is ticking and I want something that will work fast and I can take Sunday afternoon or night and know the effects will be over before I need to go to the hospital Monday night.
Thanks ladies!

Wow! Can't believe that you'll be meeting your little girl monday night / tuesday morning!
What about an enema? I believe that the glycerine types are OK. That should give you almost immediate relief. Or colace - that should get things moving. I hate to say when I get that way I just have a big ol greasy McDonalds burger or breakfast sandwich and it does the trick - lol not exactly healthy but it works everytime for me. I wouldn't want to go in all backed up ether. It'll just make you more uncomfortable and give you something else to worry about.
Good luck and I can't wait to hear your story and see pics of your beautiful little girl!

Sadly grease and sugar has no effect on me. And an enema.....I dont feel too excited about that method either lol. I'm also thinking castor oil because while its not guarnteed to send me into labor (and Im pretty sure it wont), it might at least get the process started. My thing is I dont know how muchh to take and I heard the stuff tastes horrible lol.

lol. So how much do you usually take? And I heard the flavor is horrible...do you take it straight or mix it with something? How long do I need for it to work...like if I take it Monday morning when I wake up will I be fine by Monday night 10pm for the induction or should I take it Sunday evening and just trade in my sleep (and catch up on Monday if I can with the nerves) to make sure the effects are clear by Monday night.
Thanks for any help!

Castor oil is nasty- and th eamount depends on the person. Before RNY they said to try the Magnesium Citrate- it's a liquid and mixed with juice is tolerable. It's super cheap too- Target sells it next to the castor oil down their "tummy" section, as I call it. The problem is that it takes a long time to work for me, especially if I am somewhat backed up- If I took anything like that Sunday night it wouldn't kick in until Monday afternoon more than likely. I have used milk of magnesia too- it's a bit quicker, but again if it's been a while it will take more and longer. I use suppositories when things get really bad too, but first you might want some colace or stool softener so it's comfortable. If you're that backed up, I would start taking something in small doses now- You'll probably have to play a bit with it until you find enough to work but not too much that you go in and are in labor with diarrhea- I think that would be worse! Better to clear it out before. Good luck! I'm so jealous you get to meet baby already!
Also, my daughter was born at just under 5 pounds with no complications, so I'm rooting for you too!
