OB visit
I had an OB appointment today. Things are looking good. She went over my ultrasound results with me, the baby is measuring right on for the due date, all the fluid looks great, cervix looked good, placenta was good, etc. However when they measure me with the measuring tape, I'm measuring to be 36 weeks! LOL. I think that's the extra padding I still have . My gestational diabetes test came back normal, my blood pressure is still good, and the doctor actually told me that I'm doing really well with my weight!! That was a nice thing to hear. I have been maintaining for about 3 or 4 weeks now after a total gain of 21 lbs and she said that is good, so I'm happy.
The only thing that came back a little abnormal was my iron. She said I'm slightly anemic. She recommends me to take an extra iron pill daily. I think my number was 11 whatever that means.
So things are going well, I'm glad. I just hope they continue to go smoothly.

I did end up quitting. I felt really bad and it was kinda embarrassing but I knew I had too. And after a week of not doing that job, the ligament pain has gone away. I needed the money to be honest, but I'd rather be behind in bills than to feel how I did. I really think that job would have upped my blood pressure and possibly even put me into premature labor. I guess I am more of a prideful person than I realized, cause it was really embarrassing for me to have to admit that I couldn't physically do that job while pregnant.
Aww girl, don't worry about that extra padding. I got me LOTS! It was funny with my 4th baby when my Dr. would measure me (he was a goofball, he always called my baby Cletus (the Fetus)...he cracked me up) it was before I had RNY and I was like 424 when I got pregnant with him but when he started doing the measurements with the tape at like 20 weeks I think, I measured full term already so I told him it was cuz I had so much padding. So at the next visit he measures and it's getting into like a 45 week measurement and then the visit after that it was like 50+ weeks by then and I'd been diagnosed with polyhydramnios (extra amniotic fluid) so I was even bigger than I was supposed to be anyway. Well, by the 4th time he does it he threw the tape measure over on the counter and said "I don't know why I'm still measuring your belly......we're getting into elephant gestation numbers over here!" I laughed so hard I nearly wet myself. Needless to say, he didn't get the measuring tape out after that visit! lol
What did you end up doing for your GD test? I'm dreading that. I do NOT want to do the finger poking thing. I just know that's what he's going to make me do. Geesh, gives me the willies! Maybe I'll get lucky and get a monitor where I can poke my arm instead!
I'm glad your appt. went well and hopefully your iron goes back up!

Sounds like your doctor had a good sense of humor. I was 325 when I got pregnant with my first, so I always measured big then too.
I had the lap band so I was able to do the normal drink for the GD test. Sugar doesn't do anything to me. That kind of has its pros and cons.
Since I had the lap band I was really surprised that my iron was low, I thought that was more of a RNY thing, but maybe not. Maybe it's any WLS or maybe it has nothing to do with the surgery, I don't know.
