Thankfully I have a great OB who has stayed on top of my vitamin levels. She checked my levels about a month ago and my D was low so she had me add a couple vitamin d a day. well v-d is still low so i have to add another. my ferrittin is on the lower side so i have to add another iron pill a day also.. anyone else having trouble with their vitamin levels? especially late term in their pregnancies?

Get out in the sun for your vitamin D. I have extremely low vitamin D (I have since probably soon after my RNY) and haven't been able to bring it up despite adding 2 more calcium with D tabs, adding more milk, cheese and yogurt. So getting about 30 minutes of sun everyday should help. Hopefully yours will go up. My level seems to not want to go up......don't know if I'm not absorbing well or what. I know our girl is taking what she needs because she is growing. Her bones look good and are LONG so no troubles there.

Good luck and I hope you have better luck with getting your D up than I have!

i'm wondering how long my baby will be or if my low d levels are impacting calcium intake and for the baby becaus we usually have quite large babies but so far he is right on track although he still has time to catch up with what his brothers and sister where  but as far as the look of things they say he's looking great.  have you had trouble with your ferritin or iron levels? i'm now taking 2 vitron-c one day 1 the next. prenatal with iron, plus a slow fe iron (45mg) daily plus i added a vitamin c when taking the slow fe iron pill other wise it would be useless lol

Instead of regular vitamin D you may want to try vitamin D3. My rny surgeon highly recommends it.
