Congrats and welcome!!! LOL Your surgeon scared me for a second. I was gonna say how unhealthy can that get if you are sick? Glad to have finished reading and saw she would unfill you if you needed it.

I shall now be know as Hagatha: Queen of the queens.

Oh definitely, she will demand an unfill if I have any symptoms of rapid weight loss, bad nutrition, vomiting, heartburn, etc.

The difference is some surgeons demand an unfill even if you have no symptoms and she seems to encourage keeping the fill.  That's what I was pleasantly surprised about.

Welcome! I had lapband and am currently 18 weeks pregnant. I just found out today it is a boy.

I had 1/2 of my fill taken out because I had all day morning sickness. I was going to have some put back in during the 2nd trimester but I am fine where I am. I could be tighter but my restriction fluctuates so I am staying where it is at :)

Hi all I was banded in Nov of 07 and was doing great.  I got pregnant and it was hard from the start, hyperemesis, mutliple out patient rounds of IV hydration, Oral medications daily for the nausea and even at some points suppositories. . .anyway at week 15, I was 20 pounds less than when I got pregnant and with all the nausea/vomiting my OB was concerned about babies growth and my surgeon was concerned about the potential for band slippage.  I had over 1/2 of my fill removed and the nausea/vomiting dramatically improved!  While I did gain 45 pounds I am happy to say that on 3-16-2010 I gave birth to a beautiful little girl who weighed 7# 6 oz and was 21 inches long.  I am NOW anxiously awaiting the 6 week mark when I can go back and get more fill put it!  The psychological trauma of watching the scale go back up was very trying and I am not liking my body currently but I look at her and know that it was all worth it.

My surgeon was very supportive of keeping the fill in if everything is going okay with the pregnancy!

Thanks again to everyone *****plied! Great to hear y'all's stories.  One thing's for sure with both the band, and with pregnancy........everyone is different!!

I was having all day sickness (no vomiting, just nausea) but got Zofran on Monday and I feel like a totally different person.  WOW it made ALL the difference in the world!! I am excited now about being preggers instead of dragging a$$ all over NYC :)

Another ultrasound tomorrow - fingers crossed!
