Testing an old wives tale - baby's heartbeat & gender

Good idea Liz!  At my 8 week viability u/s baby's heartbeat was a solid 171 bpm.  At 18 wks, it was 148 bpm and at my 3D u/s it was 140 bpm and we've been confirmed with carrying a boy since the 18 week u/s... baby's heart rate was a bit high at the 3D because I'd drank a couple big sips of Coke to make sure he was wide awake and kicking for the session!

Well I've thought your having a girl from the begining! Just throwing my guess out there now :)

Zachary's HR was like 145-150
Avery's HR was in the 160-170's

Your getting so close!

Little Rory's HB has never been lower than 150 so it's true for me.

BTW, I think you are having a girl too. Do you have your names picked out yet? Are you sharing or keeping them secret?

Liz...the gender game is fun...I wanted to but my husband insisted and since we thought he would be deployed by now we found out.  However, now we tell no one her name, which has been a hoot itself.  Only hubby and I know, and now that's what everyone says..."I can't wait to hear what her name is..."  Well back to your original question on heartbeats...my little lady always hangs out around 150-160.  The only one that's wasn't was the very first one with internal u/s when it was 129...other than that...I follow the wives tale.

Good luck...Stacey

PS...each week when you delete off one more until she/he should be here gets even weirder to say..LOL...only three more for me!

My sister was guessed as a boy and my brother was guessed as a girl. I have the book "Pregnancy Sucks!" and it has a list of OWT about gender. I am having both according to that.

I shall now be know as Hagatha: Queen of the queens.

My since was always in the 150s-160s range but he was extremely active so maybe not a typical boy heartbeat.  I also carried him high and across, if that means anything as far as gender.  This one has been in the 160s, and we hope to find out tomorrow.
