Hi! Getting ready to TTC!

Hey, everyone!

I'm a regular over on the lap-band board, but I figured I would come here and say hello, because I'm sure I'll be checking in from time to time.  My husband and I have decided to start trying to conceive!

RIght now, we're just "having fun," but I've read sooooo much stuff about ovulation, cervical mucus, basal temperatures, etc etc, I feel like my head is gonna explode.

I wish I could say that I have a cycle that I could set my watch by... but I don't.  It's been 32 days, 35 days, 41 days, 30 days... so how the heck am I supposed to know when I'm the most fertile?  Of course my husband is like, "Let's just do it a lot and see what happens."  LOL!  What worked for you?

Thanks!

Congrats on TTC! I won't lie it is stressful!

I used fertilityfriend.com and it was great! The book "taking charge of your fertility" is also great. I did temping, checking of cervical mucous and charting in general. I went of my pills the end of Jan, got pregnant in april. Unfortunately miscarried in June. Given the OK to TTC again in July and conceived in August! I am now almost 33 weeks.

Good luck and ask away - everyone here is great and there are some real TTC experts on here that are always willing to answer questions.

I've been to fertility friend, and I took one look at those charts and got overwhelmed.  LOL!  Maybe I'll leave it up to my husband, he LOVES all that analytical stuff.  Ha ha!

Once you enter about a week it is super easy. You don't have to enter all the fields and a lot of them you can save as a standard so it comes up automatically every time. hopefully it doesn't take you too long and you won't have to worry about all that!

I recognize you from the Lapband board.  I used to be semi-active over there but haven't been around there much.

Anyway, if you have an iPhone or an iPod Touch, there's an awesome app called iPeriod that really helped me out.  It averages out your cycle and tells you your most fertile days.  That combined with OPKs that I bought a massive quantity of on Ebay really worked for me.  You don't have to spend a fortune on the OPKs at the grocery store.  You can get 100 of them on Ebay and use them a lot more frequently...they just aren't as pretty.  I know a lot of people have had success with the Clearblue Fertility Monitor, too but I didn't want to spend that kind of money right out of the gate.  I would have if the others hadn't been successful, though.

Good luck.

Nice to see ya here. I would try the ovulation predictor test, it's like a pregnancy test, you pee on it and then just follow direction. You can even get them at the dollar tree.
Good luck to you, hope it doesn't take long!

Welcome to the board!   I have two band babies.   My cycles were kind of irregular too.  Ranging between 35-40.   I used this website to help me keep track of my cycles http://www.mymonthlycycles.com/

When your cervical mucus looks like eggs whites make sure you do the baby dance!     It took us 3 months to get pregnant with Hannah and 3 minutes to get pregnant with Noah (he was our surprise lol).  Start taking your prenatals now if you aren't already!

Good luck!
