Update: Visit with the Midwife

So...I had my GBS test today(totally NOT FUN).  And though we are NOT dilated yet, the cervix is softening and shortening so I suppose these contractions and stuff are helping get things started.  Not sure what that means(she didnt say anything about effacement...is that what that is?).  She also told me that if we do happen to go into full blown labor they will not do much to stop it but give fluids and see if that slows it down.  If not...they believe we are close enough to term to be okay.

But...assured me that I WILL KNOW when to go to the hospital with the really bad contractions.  She did confirm that they are contractions, whether they be B&H ones or not..but from my details thought they were the real deal but not close enough to be worrisome at this time.  They will check me again next Wednesday.

So...she told me I might be "one of the lucky ones" that has contractions all the way to the end.  Whoo hoo.  Just told me to take it easy and rest aLOT.

Thanks to everybody that responded today!
