Does this actually happen? For those who were infertile.

Had PCOS...was told at 18 I would never ever be able to have a child.  Got married in 2006, never was on birth control regularly, never conceived, had the surgery 2008, and am pregnant with my first!

I had BAD PCOS and was told I would need help to get preggers. Hubby had an undecended testicle and was told he might have fertility issues. We never tried pre-op but as long as all is well with me (I have thyroid problems that poss. caused my miscarriage) we had no problems getting pregnant. I do know I had to go off the pill prior to WLS and I had cysts during that time. I can say the both times I have been preggers it has been the first month we tried.

I shall now be know as Hagatha: Queen of the queens.

I have been married since 1998 and we have been flying free all that time. I did have 2 miscarriages in there and we started trying 2 years after my surgery and we still needed IVF but the good news is a year later we are 5/6 weeks away from our first child. Hope things go well with you.

Before surgery we tried for several years and then after aggresive fertility treatments concived triplets (born in 2002, all healthy and perfect!) then we used no birth control at all after they where born and never got pregnant. I had my surgery, dropped about 90 lbs, and got pregnant on my own (and we where not trying) and had a perfect, healhty baby boy seven months ago!

I hope you have the same luck!

with my first, it took 2 yrs to get pg. With my 2nd, it took 14 months and 2 rounds of Clomid to get pg. I had the RNY, lost 130 lbs and got pg at 13 months out of surgery on the first try. Weight plays a big part in fertility I believe for most of us!!! GL!

Hit goal weight of 140 at 13 months out from RNY!! 130 pounds GONE!

I had PCOS. I wasn't trying to concieve pre-wls but I never had periods... had 3 in 2008 and I'm not certain I ovulated then because DH and I never used protection due to the fact that I was pretty sure I was infertile since I had PCOS.

All symptoms of PCOS are long gone and have been since losing the first 40lbs or so (needed/wanted to lose about 100 total). I concieved 6.5 months post op (not intentionally).

I still had about 45lbs to get to my goal and I sooo wish I finished losing the weight first. This pregnancy has been miserable and I feel like a lot of that has to do with the fact that I'm still overweight. I was thin with my first pregnancy and it was so much easier.
