Colposcopy
I had a colposcopy on Friday with a cervical biopsy. I see a high risk OB so I figured they wouldn't do anything that would hurt the baby.
Saturday nite I started spotting bright pink. I called the OB on call and she said that there was nothing to worry about it was probably just because of the biopsy, but if it got worse Sunday that I needed to go to the ER. It cleared up yesterday, but today every time I go to the restroom I seem to have this brownish looking tissue/mucus on the toilet paper. I don't have any pain cramping or blood on a panty liner, just on the toilet paper.
I see my OB on Thursday, and I was just wondering if anyone had a similar experience with being pregnant and having a cervical biopsy.
Thanks,
Sandy

Thats kind of how mine went but at the time I was not pregnant but with them digging (sorry thats how it felt to me)in there and how vascular it is while pregnant I can imagine there would be bleeding and all but it never hurts to check it out. Let us know!

when i had a colposcopy last year i had some spotting followed by brown discharge. I was told to expect this before i even left the doctors office. I also bled quite a bit during the colpo so they had to insert these little bean bag looking things to "sop" up the blood and was warned that they were filled with a "ground coffee" looking material to absorb blood and discharge form the colpo...and sure enough there was very light spotting for the next 3 or so days followed by the brownish stuff, which really did look like coffee grinds mixed with some mucous.
I really hope that your body is just reacting to the colpo and that all is well with you and baby =)
