I'm a 3!!

I had an ultrasound today at 38 wks and got to see my little man, not so little anymore.  They estimate him to be 7lbs 6 oz, but say there is an error rate of plus or minus 14 oz. .   Then my doc checked me and I am at a good 3 (was a 1 last week) and he said my cervix is really ready.  He said that he thinks I'll go into labor at any time now and that when I do, it'll be quick.   With my 2nd baby, I went in at a 2 and they broke my water (I was induced) at 8:30 am.   I was a 3 cm by 11 am and then went from a 3 to a 10 by 12:00pm (so in one hour).   I went so quick that I didn't have time for an epidural and felt everything.   So I know I'll go quick again with this one cuz I'm already a 3!!  I'm going to demand an epidural pretty quick if I go in on my own and when I'm induced, I'm getting one as soon as I can!!  lol

When he was up there checking me too, he also stripped my membranes and I didn't even flinch.  He told me a few minutes later when I asked him if he could strip them if he couldn't induce me this weekend- he said oh I already did it!  lol   He's going to be in Phoenix (we live in Utah) for a funeral on saturday and flying back sunday, so I hope I don't go into labor this weekend!   I tore really bad with my  last baby and really want him there to deliver and to do my episiotomy (he was going to do a c-section but I opted for an episiotomy).   I have been scheduled to go in next sunday on Easter at 7:30 am, but I am hoping to go sooner.   I'm so uncomfortable and hot, it's miserable!

Any of you had your membranes stripped?  Did it do anything???  Just curious cuz this is the first baby I've had this done with and have heard different things from different people about it.

So exciting, it'll be pretty soon. I hope your doc is here for the delivery too, that would be disappointing to not have him be there. I don't know about the stripped membranes but I hope it works out how you'd like it too.

i went in monday for my 39 week appt.... she said she would "help me along" ... i assume it was her stripping my membranes... that night i had sporatic contractions... which was nothing abnormal... i woke up 4 amish pissed cause they were annoying so i took a benadryl... of couse i was just a drowsy contracting mess... so then i actually went to l and d tuesday morning for some bleeding... i was then contracting 3-8 mins apart... they sent me home... i walked ikea and ran after jayson.. threw him in the air... and basically acted like a fool at the park... by 11 that night i tried the shower... by midnight i was being admitted to the hosp... she was born wed morning before the chickens were up.. anyway.. thats a huge long story for ... yes it worked

Yay! That is so exciting!  I hope that all goes as planned for you.. soon you'll be holding your new babe! I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers for a quick, painless delivery! Best wishes!
