Swelling Feet
I am having a rough time with swelling feet/ankles/calves. I don't mean a little puffy foot. My PCP and OB said to get support hose. I got them yesterday and hate them already :)
It has been bad for about two weeks. I am drinking water, I have been walking every day (not like a speed demon but a walk), I have tried baths, soaking my feet, and elevating my feet.
My blood pressure is fine, it just like an issue with swelling ankles. Do you have any ideas? My doctors said no diuretic during pregnancy. So, I am just at a loss how to get it down.
How much water are you drinking? You might actually need MORE. If your body senses you aren't getting enough water it holds on to it.
I got diabetic socks in the mens sock department at Target and Walmart. They come in a few different styles but the ones I like best are the "crew" socks, they come about 1/2 way up my calves and seem to keep the swelling at bay. They aren't snug and are cotton and fairly light weight. I think that Dr Schol's makes them
Good luck!

At my heaviest, I suffered from swelling anklesfeet/calves. I HATE the support hose also, it always dug into the top of my calf and hurt or it was just a pain. It helped me a little to wear shoes that laced up so that I could lace them tight. This helped keep the swelling down somewhat. When the weather gets warmer though, there wasn't much I could do.
Now that I've lost weight, my ankles don't swell except in extreme situations. Some days they swell more than others now that I'm pregnant, but I've noticed sodium intake makes a difference too. Hope they don't get too bad for you, it sucks, I know.
