How long after surgery did you get pregnant?

Let me start out by saying that we're nowhere near ready to try again after three miscarriages and my weight loss surgery.  I'm just curious how long you waited.  Thanks! =)

Most doctors recommend anywhere from 18 mths to 2 years, but some say 12 months. The main thing is to allow your body time to maximize your weight loss potential and then stabilize. We waited about 2 years and started trying...it took another 3 with fertility issues but having obesity not be a factor definitely helped believe it or not. I had a healthy pregnancy with relatively minor complications and now have a healthy and happy 2.5 yr old.

I waited 22 months. We were blessed and got pregnant the first month we tried

I second waiting to lose your weight first, maintaining (even if it is just 3-6 months) then going for it. Best of luck to you on your journey!!!

I waited 6 or 7 years, I think.  

I was 22 months post op when I got pregnant with Hannah.

So sorry about your miscarriages. i got cleared weight wise at 12 months. I got preggers this time at 2 years out.

By 10 months, I had lost all my weight (130 lbs gone) and got to goal. And the next two months, I really just maintained- maybe lost like a pound or two. At my year visit at 12 months, my doctor said it was ok to start trying and we got pregnant on the first try! My other two pg's pre op took us 2 yrs and then fertility drugs and 14 months- so I was so shocked. GL to you!

Oops for me!  I was 10 months out.  Already at surgeon's goal and 15 away from my personal goal weight.  Didn't do it on purpose but sure am glad I got a miracle baby!
